PLUS Series KVM Switches Fully Compatible with Windows 8 ConnectPRO’s PLUS Series to Support Regular and Professional Editions

WALNUT, California-ConnectPRO is excited to announce it has completed its evaluation of the all-new Windows 8 OS and found it to be fully compatible with its line of PLUS series KVM switches. The PLUS series was already known for being one of the only reliable Windows 7 compliant switches. Now, with the added support of Windows 8, the user has another option to add to the PLUS series’ use.

Windows 8, one of Microsoft’s biggest OS upgrades ever, features the stunning Start Screen where each tile is affiliated with a certain app, playlist, IM conversation, folder of photos, etc. The user can “pin” as many tiles as they want to their Start Screen. Since the PLUS series switches support Windows’ Touchscreen Sharing Mode, this option can be especially convenient if the user has a touchscreen as they can use many of the common “swipe” and “pinch” features that you’d see on a modern day smartphone.

There are numerous features that the user will enjoy with Windows 8. They’ll notice right away its lightning fast boot time. It has a useful option where you can elect to have it automatically close applications that are not in use to conserve your system’s RAM. It has a fancy new sign on screen with added security enhancements including facial recognition.

ConnectPRO has also confirmed that its PLUS series switches will support Logitech’s New Touch Collection, specifically designed for Windows 8.  This sleek collection features updated mice that are optimized for quick navigation and maximum productivity. The collection even features a wireless recharchargeable touch pad. The collection consists of the Zone Touch Mouse T400, the Touch Mouse T620, and the Rechargeable Touchpad T650.

The PLUS series KVM switches feature the full time DDC/EDID as well as ConnectPRO’s patented DDM Technology (Dynamic Device Mapping). This provides greater stability for switching between systems, and faster response times, as the individual computers need not to re-enumerate your devices.  DDM technology also allows stable control of USB touch-screen displays, without having to deal with constant re-calibration.  In addition to the DDM ports, there is an additional USB 2.0 port for any USB devices to be shared, which do not conform to USB-HID standard.
