Frequently Asked Questions

    • What is the hot-key combination for switching ports?

      • The standard method for switching ports via Hot-key controls is pressing the left Control key twice, followed by the number of the port you’re switching to. Example: Control + Control + 2, should switch the KVM to Port #2.

    • What is the hot-key combination for pulling up the On-Screen Display menu?

      • If your KVM features OSD, pressing the left Control key three times consecutively should initialize it.

    • What do I need to cascade multiple KVM switches?

      • For cascading multiple KVM switches, no special cabling is needed. You will need the standard PS/2 KVM cable to connect the console ports on the slave switch to one of the available KVM ports on the master switch. Note: The master switch should have an equal or greater number of ports than the slave switch.

  • How can I connect a computer that only has USB ports and no PS/2 ports.

    • If you’re trying to connect a computer without PS/2 ports to a PS/2 KVM switch, you’ll need to purchase the ConnectPRO PS/2 to USB adapter, part number: MT-606-1.
